JADE NAIDU

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR - NAIDU THEATRE COMPANY

Proudly descended from Indian Fijian Girmityas and Tamil South Indians, Jade serves as Artistic Director of Naidu Theatre Company, leading projects across new writing, performance-making and creative producing.

 

A graduate of National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), Ministry of Dance & Melbourne University, Jade is a multidisciplinary artist working across writing, directing, choreography and producing. She is currently completing a double degree in Arts/Law and Creative Writing at Southern Cross University.

Jade was recently awarded a Regional Arts NSW Project Grant and an Arts Mid North Coast CASP Grant for her original eco-musical Threads, which was selected for development in the Winter Lab Hatch Session with AMTAC. She was also shortlisted for the 2024 Travel Gang Theatre Educator Scholarship and completed her producing mentorship with Sport for Jove (2020).

Her international experience includes an Associate Internship with Sony Pictures, India (2012) Principal Dancer for 'Dance of Warriors' Tour (Steps Dance Co, India) and she introduced the Cecchetti Method of Classical Ballet to India in the dance documentary 'Enrico in India.'

Producing, choreography and directing credits include: The Songs That Got Away (NTC/NIDA), The Forced Marriage (NIDA), Honk! The Musical (BLOC), The Golden age (Company of Classical Ballet & Western Dance, India) and numerous productions with Naidu Theatre Company including; It Takes A Village, A Very Evil Cabaret, Disney’s Moana Jr., Disney’s Frozen Jr., Cats the Musical, The Golden Age Series, BILLIE Commercial Dance Tour, Tchaikovsky’s Many Moves, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Rouge Diamond Cabaret Club and Threads A New Australian Eco Musical.

Jade is passionate about championing diverse voices, advancing women in creative leadership, and strengthening arts education in regional communities.
